It was a full house at the Cocoa Beanery where connections and collaborations were happening all around! Snitz Creek, one of Central Pennsylvania’s newest micro breweries was sharing their start-up success and offering tastings to guests.
Chicago was the place to be for all things biotechnology during the week of April 22nd. Members of the Office of Technology Development team spent an exciting few days at the BIO (Biotechnology Industry Organization) International Conference which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013. The BIO International Convention is the world’s largest gathering in the biotechnology industry, along with industry-leading investors and partner meetings held worldwide.
Pennsylvania did an excellent job showcasing all the Commonwealth has to offer in the life science community with 15 partners represented.
On April 23, Governor Tom Corbett was honored by BIO with its 2013 BIO Governor of the Year Award in recognition of his leadership and commitment to strengthening the biotechnology and public health sectors in Pennsylvania. Governor Corbett, along with Jim Greenwood, president and CEO of BIO visited the Pennsylvania Pavilion to address the growth of the life science community in Pennsylvania and celebrate the BIO International Conference coming to Philadelphia in 2015.
